Usb to serial setup windows 7

I can't plug it into the other side where I have 2 USB ports right next to eachother. I can plug it in, but it will block the other opening for the USB port because of its size. I connect at the highest speed available, 38, and run the refresh rate at a miliseconds which is the fastest that is available in HRD.

Than you can try like this to connect your rig. This is in Win 7 x64 home premium. Which adapter do you have? I believe the issue is a conflict with something on my computer, but I can't figure it out. I'm normally pretty good at troubleshooting what is wrong with the computer, but I think I'll have to break down and bring it over to one of my buddie's and have him look at it. Connect all USB to serial adapters you've ever installed.
