After pulling the timing chain cover, removing the chain, re-setting the chain according to the instructions provided by ssicarman and confirming that it was all set correctly, I started the engine.
I still got the P code. It shaked but would now rev up. I swapped out a second ignition control module it shaked less , I replaced the full set of plugs with used plugs it shaked less , I replaced the full set up plugs with new platinum tips plugs it still shaked, but it would now idle down to rpm. So, being a brave scout - I decided I needed to road test and get fresh gas running on empty.
I drove slowly felt like its still running on 3 cylinders to the local station less that 1 mile away. I can hardly believe it. I'm thinking that what happened is the computer had to retrain the injectors??? Once it the computer figured out that all four cylinders are alive and well it started using them. I've now driven at freeway speeds, up and down hills. Here are links to some really helpful drawings and a pic that I found most helpful to confirm my timing chain alignment.

Installation Procedure Install the oil nozzle and bolt. Install the crankshaft sprocket with timing mark at the 5 o'clock position.
Lower the timing chain through the opening in the top of the cylinder head. Carefully ensure that the chain goes around both sides of the cylinder block bosses. Install the intake camshaft sprocket with the INT diamond at the 2 o'clock position. Important: Always install NEW sprocket bolts. Hand tighten a NEW intake camshaft sprocket bolt.
Route the timing chain around the crankshaft sprocket with the matching colored link aligning with the timing mark.
